5.6.20

Hi there! Today we are going to practise paraphrasing, which is an essential language skill. We can use different techniques when we don't know how to define a word: we can explain the word, give examples, mime, give opposites, synonyms, even translations! But today we are going to focus on specific expressions we can use.

Open your Student's book at page 24. Do activities:

Today's idiom is one of my favourites:

Idiom: It takes two to tango
Meaning: a situation or an argument involves two people and they are both responsible for it.
Example: Divorce is never the fault of one partner. It takes two to tango

Can you give another example of a sentence where you would use this idiom?

As for the quote, the other I was reading about the Black Lives Matter movement and I found a very interesting quote: " If you are neutral in situations of injustice you have chosen the side of the oppressor" (by Desmond Tutu)

Do you agree with him?

Enjoy your weekend 🙂
